The mission of the CCASU Library is to support the information and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. Services include bibliographic instruction, reference services, interlibrary loan, and access to circulating print, media, and online resource collections focused on the school’s curriculum.
Faculty can request library instruction sessions for their classes. Depending on the needs of the class, class time may be a few minutes for a very brief visit or for the entire class for active learning. Librarians will work with classroom faculty to schedule the best time for the library instruction session and determine what information literacy skills students need to successfully complete their assignment and the appropriate amount of time for each instruction session.
Library instruction topics may include:

We subscribe to LibGuides, a Web 2.0 content management and website publishing system to support faculty instruction and student learning. Librarians will work with faculty to recommend research sources as well as provide technical expertise--we can build the Libguide for you with your input or you can build it yourself.

The library welcomes all suggestions and encourages everyone to let us know how to improve your experience in the library or in using library resources. We welcome your suggestions/requests for new books, DVDs, magazines, online resources and other materials.

Faculty may place required and optional books that are expected to have heavy use by students in a class on Reserve in the LRC. These items are kept in a separate area and will have a shorter borrowing period (e.g. in library use or 1-week borrowing period only). Reserve items may include library-owned materials, textbooks, special items such as faculty-owned materials (books, CDs, DVDs, etc.), or copies of articles or chapter of a book from outside sources.
*Please note that the LRC may only provide a limited quantity of circulating copies (to borrow outside of the library) of books required for your courses. Students are expected to purchase their own copies of required books.
